Your Spring Skincare Guide for A Seamless Transition Into The New Season

Dare we say it… Spring is just around the corner and we are as excited as you are reading these words!

Don’t get us wrong, Winter certainly has its perks from fun on the slopes to cozy gatherings with your nearest and dearest, but we have to admit, we are ready for some warmer weather!

With a change in season comes a change in your skin’s needs and by understanding this you can ensure a seamless transition with few to no skincare woes.

While your skin may have craved richer, deeper hydration during the chilly months, that same hydration may be a little intense for your pores right now.

In this article we want to share our top spring skincare tips so you can step into this new season on a bright note, literally!

Do exfoliate away the layers of Winter

While exfoliation is important year round, this season of renewal calls for more regular exfoliation to help renew and refresh your complexion after a long, cold Winter.

Slough away dull, dry skin and enjoy radiant, glowing spring-ready skin with an exfoliator designed to maintain the health and integrity of your skin barrier.

Formulated with the purest pink salt, containing over a whopping 60+ trace minerals, our salt scrubs provide a heap of benefits for your skin. They open up your pores to kill bacteria for healthier, clearer skin.

The base of our scrub is powerful anti-inflammatory jojoba oil that helps to soothe and soften and leave the perfect amount of moisture on the skin once you rinse it off.

With regular use you will notice brighter, clearer skin with fewer blackheads and blemishes, and with regular use you will even notice those stubborn scars start to fade away!

We have a variety of beautiful scents to choose from, all thanks to essential oils that help to elevate your skincare ritual providing aromatherapy benefits as it improves the condition of your skin.

Don’t forget to moisturize

This is an essential step in any skincare routine, one that should never be skipped!

However, as the temperatures start to rise you may find that your skin is a little oilier than it was over the past few months, which makes sense as there is more humidity in the air and no more artificial heating!

This does not mean you should skimp on the moisture though. In fact, when you skip this important step, your skin may get confused and try to compensate for the lack of moisture, often by overproducing oil, which may increase your risk of breakouts, and who really has time for that?

Of course, you may want to forego the heavy moisturizers you may have favored during the cool season and, instead, opt for something a little lighter that will still ensure perfectly balanced hydration levels.

This is where jojoba oil comes in!

It’s a lightweight, non-greasy oil that mimics the skin’s own sebum, meaning your pores readily drink it up and it leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished but never overloaded.

It has powerful anti-inflammatory properties too, which is excellent for all skin types, especially if you are prone to irritation or pesky blemishes.

Do amp up the SPF

We cannot stress this enough…

Do not even think about stepping foot outdoors without applying your SPF first! Yes, even on cloudy, rainy days!

The UV rays of the sun may feel wonderful, and who doesn’t love a bronze glow? But if you’re not protecting your skin, not only are you putting yourself at risk of skin cancer, you’re increasing your skin’s risk of accelerated aging too.

When using SPF you want to be sure you are using an SPF of at least 30 or higher for the best protection, and look for a mineral version instead of a chemical sunscreen.

Mineral sunscreens work by sitting on top of the skin, forming a protective barrier that bounces the sun’s rays off the skin and back into the environment. Look for ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

Chemical sunscreens, on the other hand, work by absorbing into the skin, and then neutralizing the sun’s rays. The problem with this is that these harsh chemicals are absorbed into the body where they can put your health at risk, not to mention they are awful for the environment. If you see ingredients like avobenzone or oxybenzone be sure to avoid!

Don’t forget to hydrate from the inside out too

If you read our posts regularly then you may already know the importance of internal hydration for skin that is hydrated externally too.

By drinking enough water or loading up on hydrating fruits and veggies, your skin cells will stay nice and plump, and this will reflect in the outer appearance of your skin.

Some of our favorite hydrating fruits include watermelon, strawberries, peaches and oranges. You could also add all of these to a large pitcher of filtered water and allow it to infuse overnight for delightful fruity flavored water the next day, packed in vitamins and antioxidants!

Drinking at least 2 liters of water a day also ensures healthy digestion, another critical component of healthy skin, as it keeps everything moving and helps to flush toxins out of the system.

We hope this article has inspired you to take charge of your skincare routine so you can transition into Spring seamlessly! We wish you all the best for this new season of hope and renewal!
